Private radio operator, UKRD Group, has been named as “West Country Employer of the Year” at a ceremony in Cornwall.

The award, presented to the company by Daily Mail Group owned, The Western Morning News, was one of 14 categories and covering the west country region of the UK.

The Group’s CEO, William Rogers, said that he was delighted that the company had again been recognised in respect of its values based culture and for being a great place for people to work.

“This is the third award of its type UKRD has received this year and comes hot on the heels of being a three star “Best Company” as well as the Number 1 “Best Company to Work For” in the Sunday Times Top 100 listings.”

“The level of engagement we get from our teams is fantastic and the opportunities that are created for our business as a result are simply tremendous. This award is simply a reflection upon those who work in our company and the commitment they have to it to deliver great local radio to the communities they serve,” he said.

The award was collected by Sian Woods, the groups Assistant Company Secretary and Dawn Wilson, the receptionist at Pirate FM.
