UKRD has punched above its weight scooping Silver in the History category at this year's New York Festivals World's Best Radio Program's 2015.

The hour long programme, 'Ghosts of War', commemorated the 100th anniversary of the start of World War 1 and was broadcast commercial free last year on all UKRD stations.

The programme was conceived and produced by UKRD's Group Production Manager, Colin McGinness.

"It is always a privilege for UKRD to provide a platform for Colin's emotive work and once again he has been rightly recognised by the New York Festival judges", said Phil Angell, UKRD's Group Programme Director. "It's not often that Groups of our size get world recognition but this is thoroughly deserved and we all take our hats off to Col and his outstanding work".
