David Jensen and Pat Sharp sign to UKRD's My Music Radio

Commercial radio operator, UKRD Group, this week launches a new radio brand, My Music Radio. Broadcasting nationally on free App, online at mymusicradio.co.uk and on DAB multiplexes in the South East, South West and North Yorkshire along with the small-scale DAB multiplex covering the city of Cambridge.

Launching on Thursday 10th My Music Radio welcomes David “Kid” Jensen and Pat Sharp to the presentation line-up, both of whom will present shows on Saturday and Sunday. Stray FM’s Nick Hancock joins the weekday line-up presenting the breakfast show. Peter Gordon and Adam Morris from Eagle Radio are signed up too and will present ‘mornings’ and ‘afternoons’ respectively. Beth Parsons will be presenting the weekend breakfast show.

Announcing the line-up in an internal company-wide e-mail, Dave Alsybury, Operations and Content Director for My Music Radio said, “I am delighted that David and Pat are joining the My Music Radio team and that I’ll be working even more closely with UKRD colleagues Adam, Nick, Beth and Peter”.

“Available on free app, online at mymusicradio.co.uk and several DAB multiplexes across the country, My Music Radio is the “home of 70s and more” said Alsybury “and is like no other radio station in the UK.”

Dave Coull, UKRD’s Group Content Director told Radio Today, “My Music Radio is a National Radio Franchise. Every county in the United Kingdom will have a dedicated, county-wide, My Music Radio stream available on free mobile app, online at mymusicradio.co.uk and in several markets on DAB digital radio. Carrying the same content on all streams, the county-wide franchise’s will broadcast local commercials giving clients an opportunity to advertise on a national brand but only in the areas they wish to do business with their customers” said Coull.

“The way people consume radio content is changing,” said William Rogers, UKRD’s Chief Executive. “44% of the UK’s population have downloaded a radio app, five and a half million adults “listen again” or “catch up” with the content they have missed. That “listen again” function is particularly favoured by a 55 + audience, the exact audience My Music Radio is targeting.” said Rogers.
