Joining a music entrepreneur, representative of PRS and Music Week journalist, UKRD’s Chief Executive Officer, William Rogers, became the fourth panel member at the recent “Lowde Music Trust Enterprise Award” Dragons Den style competition to allocate a grant and mentoring support for a student with the most enterprising new start-up idea within the internet and music space.

The event, which was held in Woking, saw three finalists delivering polished presentations across a wide range of new business initiatives to the panel which then had to sift through the detail and come to a decision about who should finally win the award.

The announcement will be made shortly and the recipient will receive a grant along with mentoring support to assist them in cutting through the business issues that they will all confront.

The Lowde Trust is chaired by Jenny Lowde whose husband, Keith, tragically died in a boating incident on the Thames a few years ago and in whose name the trust was created.

“This is a great opportunity to help young entrepreneurs in the music arena to take their ideas and develop them further and I was delighted to have been asked to take part as well as hear all the great and innovative thinking which lay behind the presentations made by the students involved,” said Rogers.

“The Lowde Trust is a super initiative and is clearly all about helping young talent develop their careers and ideas to the maximum.”
